Every piece of land holds a story,
sometimes it just needs someone to listen.
If you own property in or around Klickitat County and have found old foundations, bricks, bottles, or even family stories that make you wonder who came before, I’d love to walk it with you.
When we meet, you’ll show me around your land and share what you’ve found or heard.
I’ll research old maps, homestead filings, and newspaper archives to uncover who lived there and how their lives shaped the land.
You’ll receive copies of any records or findings so you can preserve your property’s story for the future.
I also share my research with the Twin Bridges Museum so that others may learn from and witness our local history.
All information containing personal details will always be reviewed and approved by you before anything is submitted or shared publicly.
For official homestead files, the U.S. National Archives charges a $50 retrieval fee; I can help coordinate that for you if you’re interested.
All other research and field visits are completely volunteer based.
There’s no charge for my time or work, though donations are always welcome to help cover travel, printing, and record costs.
I work closely with other local historians and researchers, including Dianna McAnally, Brenda and Mike Sorensen, Barbara Sexton, Ralph Brown, local pioneer families, and many more.
Together, we piece together the stories that connect Lyle, White Salmon, Glenwood and the surrounding lands, tracing how families, homesteads, and time itself wove together to create the Klickitat we know today.
