Hartland is a historic rural community located outside of Lyle in Klickitat County, Washington. This section gathers research, photographs, records, and stories connected to the early settlers, homesteads, and landmarks that shaped the Hartland area over time.
My name is Kachera Cottrell, an independent historical researcher focused on documenting the people, places, and land history of Lyle and the surrounding Klickitat County communities.Although I do not live in the area, I have developed a deep connection to this landscape and its stories. Since 2022, I have worked to research early homesteads, historic structures, and the families who shaped this region.Through Klickitat Chronicles, I aim to connect the land to its stories, support the preservation work of the Twin Bridges Museum, and make this research accessible online for anyone interested in the history of this remarkable place.
